The Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the State of Kuwait (hereinafter referred to as »Parties«),
wishing to promote bilateral cooperation in health and medical sciences which they believe to be extremely important and need to be strengthened, accordingly concluded the following Agreement:
Article 1
Both Parties encourage the exchange of experts in health specialities which are of common interest to medical institutions in each country with the aim of improving services as well as for the purpose of exchanging experiences pertinent to health matters.
Article 2
Both Parties encourage and support exchanges of the following health professionals, which include leading consultants with specializations of interest, for assignments of short or long duration in accordance with available manpower resources, for the purpose of providing services in the area of interest on the territory of the requesting Party:
– Specialists and experts in various medical and health fields for a period which could be decided according to an agreement between medical institutions and on the basis of decisions between the medical institutions;
– Registered nurses for a period which could be decided according to an agreement between medical institutions; and
– Medical teams consisting of physicians and supporting staff to provide medical services in a specialty area for a period which could be decided according to an agreement between medical institutions.
Article 3
Both Parties encourage and facilitate the provision of medical services to Kuwaiti patients in Slovene Medical Institutions.
Article 4
Both Parties encourage and support graduate and postgraduate education and training in the fields of health on the territory of the other country. Such education and training shall be organized upon the request of the either Party.
Article 5
Both Parties encourage the exchange of information in the field of health and medical sciences aimed at improving the health systems in the two countries.
Article 6
Both Parties encourage and support organization and implementation of various activities in continuing education in the field of health and medical sciences which will be organized upon the request of either Party.
Article 7
The cost of the exchanges, as well as other forms of cooperation resulting from this Agreement shall be borne by the Party making the request. Both Parties will arrange financial remuneration for all services.
Article 8
All exchanges as well as other forms of cooperation resulting from this Agreement shall be implemented in accordance with the laws and regulations of both countries.
Article 9
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date when Both Parties inform each other that all internal legal conditions for its entry in force have been fulfilled.
The Agreement is concluded for a period of five years and shall automatically be prolonged for the following five-year periods unless one Party notifies the other Party through diplomatic channels six months in advance, in writing, its intention to terminate the Agreement.
Signed in witness thereof at Kuwait City on 10, October 1998, in two originals, in the Slovene, Arabic and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of difference in interpretation, the English text shall prevail.
