JOINT STATEMENT
The Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the República Oriental del Uruguay in accordance with the interests and desires of both peoples have decided to establish diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level as of 26 April 1993.
Both Governments have agreed to develop the friendly relations existing between the two countries based on the principles of mutual respect of their sovereignty and territorial integrity, non-agression, non-intervention in the internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit and pacific coexistence.
The Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the República Oriental del Uruguay have agreed to exchange non-resident ambassadors in accordance with international law and practice.
