Avgusta 2022 je umrl akademik profesor doktor Jože Mencinger, eden od stebrov ljubljanske pravne fakultete zadnjih 50 let, posebej v času samostojne Slovenije. Bil je pomemben mislec – sodobnik slovenskega družbenega življenja, znanstveni raziskovalec ter ugleden in spoštovan učitelj mnogih generacij pravnikov. Jože Mencinger je bil demokrat z razvitim socialnim čutom, vse življenje nespremenjenih visokih moralno-etičnih načel. S podporo hendikepiranim, z močnim socialnim čutom na vseh področjih delovanja je poosebljal načelo pravičnosti. Bil je zelo mil do študentov, dobro zapisan zaradi pomoči ljubljanskim brezdomcem, zavzemal se je za izbrisane in za begunce, v svetu pa je podpiral manj razvite države v prizadevanju za beg iz revščine.

In August 2022, academician Professor Jože Mencinger, PhD, one of the pillars of the Ljubljana Faculty of Law for the past 50 years, especially after the independence of Slovenia, died. He was an important thinker – a contemporary of Slovenian social life, a scientific researcher and a respected and renowned teacher of many generations of iurists. Jože Mencinger was a democrat with a developed social sense, with unchanged high moral and ethical principles throughout his life. By supporting the handicapped, with a strong social sense in all areas of his activity, he personified the principle of justice. He was very kind to students, well-known for helping the homeless of Ljubljana, he stood up for the “erased” and for refugees, and in the world he supported less developed countries in their efforts to escape poverty.
